Why We Built FootballPools
We’re football fans. That’s it. Every group we know has run a pool the same way for years — a spreadsheet, a group chat, and one poor commissioner chasing picks on a Sunday morning and settling arguments about who said what. The game is great. The admin is miserable. So we built our own.
FootballPools is built for the NFL week. The Survivor pool where one bad pick ends your season. Pick’em, where five right calls against the spread take the week’s pot. Automatic scoring from real results within minutes of a game going final. Deadline reminders so nobody goes out because they forgot to pick.
We run the whole 2026 regular season — all 18 weeks, all 32 teams, byes and all. Picks lock at the first kickoff of the week, Pick’em spreads are frozen early so everyone plays the same number, and the pot stays where it belongs: with your group. If there’s competition, there should be a great way to play with your friends.

Pools with 5 or fewer members are completely free — no catch, no ads, no trial period. Larger pools cost $2 per additional member, paid by the commissioner — and if the pool grows later, only the new members are added. That's it.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY
Survivor Pool
Pick one team a week to win straight up — no spread. If they win, you’re through. If they lose, you’re out. You can never pick the same team twice, and a team on its bye is off the board that week, so save your best picks for when it matters most.
The tension builds every week as the field shrinks across all 18 weeks. Last one standing takes the pot — and if everyone left falls in the same week, the pool’s tie rule decides it: by default a valid pick beats no pick, or the commissioner can have them share as co-champions.

Pick any five games each week and take a side against the spread. Get all five right and you take that week’s pot. If nobody’s perfect, it rolls over and next week is worth more.
Favourites can’t carry you: every pick is against the number, which is frozen early in the week so everyone plays the same line, and a push counts as a loss. Nobody gets eliminated, so every week is a fresh shot at the pot.
